Use strong password:

Keep an Eye on Address bar:

Adress bar is field of browser where you type address of any website to visit. Every time when you click on any link, see the link in address bar! It might be http://facebook.xyz.com instead of http://facebook.com

Use Antivirus:

I will never suggest you to browse Internet if you don’t have antivirus installed in your system. If you don’t have any Antivirus installed yet, then I strongly recommend you to Install it in your computer. And always keep it up to date.

Add Security Question:

Facebook automatically gives you option to add a security question in your account! andIf you have added a question once, then you can never change it.

Use secondary emails:

Facebook require email as your username to login. This is your primary email. Add your secondary email in your facebook account. You will be able to recover your password with your secondary email if you ever lose access to your primary email. Click on Account> Account Settings> After the Email, click on change, Enter new Contact Email.

Hide Email in Profile:

Do not show your Email address in your Info tab in your profile. If anyone don’t know your login email, then you know he can’t even try to login in your account Click on Account> Privacy Settings. Now on the page, click on Customize Settings. Scroll down the page and your will see your all emails attached to your account. Next to emails, click the button to change setting.

Activate facebook mobile:

If you have not yet activated your facebook mobile then do this immediately, this is very Important and Helpful. Click on Account> Account Settings> . Now on the page, click on Mobile tab and add your mobile number. Don’t forget to enable Texts.

Use secure Https connection:

Facebook has introduced the seruce Https connection. This feature provide certificate of the website to the user and your will see changing in facebook icon in your adress bar! you can use this feature by changing your account security. Go to Account> Account Settings>. Next to Account Security, click change, Tick the option saying “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible” and save

Login Alert:

In last, enable login alerts. By doing this you will receive a notification message on your mobile whenever anyone will login to your account. This option is available in account security under Secure https browsing.
